About Us
Born from Experience. Built to Support Families Like Yours.
Home Carers began in 2014 after a family member’s care needs opened our eyes to how hard it can be to find truly reliable, compassionate home support. That experience shaped everything we do today.
Now led by Paul and Louise (that’s us in the photo!), we continue to help older people live independently and comfortably at home — while giving their families peace of mind. We know what it’s like to feel time-poor, overwhelmed, and unsure who to trust. That’s why we’ve created a service that’s responsive, easy to access, and built on kindness, consistency, and clear communication.
Our carers are known for showing up, staying connected, and treating your loved one like family. We’re always on-call, we provide daily updates, and we’re committed to being New Zealand’s most trusted home care team — one family at a time.

Meet the Heart of Home Carers
At Home Carers, our people are at the centre of everything we do. From our dedicated carers to our compassionate support team, each member brings empathy, integrity, and professionalism to every visit. We carefully select individuals who not only have the right experience but genuinely care about making a difference in the lives of others. United by a shared purpose—to help older people live independently and with dignity—our team is what sets us apart. We’re proud to work alongside people who lead with kindness, go the extra mile, and treat every client like family.

Rebecca Brosnahan, Care Manager
My job involves … caring for all our clients and carers. I manage the rosters and communication, and I help our new clients become part of our Home Carers family.
The best part of my job …. is the wonderful relationships I have with both our carers and clients. 1 am welcomed into homes and learn about the love and challenges families face while supporting their elders. Being able to consider this and then match it with a carer who will provide help and support is a very privileged position to be in.
I am inspired by nature and spending time in it with my constant sidekick, Jasper. He is a black Lab / Staffy cross that turned 10 at the beginning of the year. He is very wise and loves a beach stroll or forest sniff.

Rachel Waddy, Community Engagement Manager
My job involves…. promoting the benefits of having quality carers inhouse for elderly people in Canterbury supporting them to live their best life
I believe this is an essential service to allow this demographic of people in the community to protect their asset and quality of lifestyle as long as possible
The best part about my job…. is knowing that I represent a premium business that believes in employing compassionate staff who are adept at identifying the ongoing needs of our clients as life challenges and changes arise
I am inspired by… knowing that our team takes extra special care in their roles as it is the exclusive priority of our caregivers in this field Always being authentic taking pride in their role, honest and actively listening to the needs of our client and family to deliver and exceed expectations
