About Us
Born from Experience. Built to Support Families Like Yours.
Home Carers began in 2014 after a family member’s care needs opened our eyes to how hard it can be to find truly reliable, compassionate home support. That experience shaped everything we do today.
Now led by Paul and Louise (that’s us in the photo!), we continue to help older people live independently and comfortably at home — while giving their families peace of mind. We know what it’s like to feel time-poor, overwhelmed, and unsure who to trust. That’s why we’ve created a service that’s responsive, easy to access, and built on kindness, consistency, and clear communication.
Our carers are known for showing up, staying connected, and treating your loved one like family. We’re always on-call, we provide daily updates, and we’re committed to being New Zealand’s most trusted home care team — one family at a time.

Dee Smith, Clinical Manager
My job involves … being the support person for clients, their families & our staff, providing education & mentorship to all. I arrange the smooth transition for our clients in allowing our carer’s into their home & strive to ensure the best provision of care is delivered. As a registered nurse I value people’s opinions, have a great work ethic, working with honesty, openness & transparency. I’m a great believer in after care, so you can be comfortable with the knowledge that you won’t drop off my radar.
The best part of my job …. As a people’s person, is meeting the amazing people who we are privileged to support when they most need it. Compiling a tailor-made care plan with our clients to suit every individual’s needs.
I am inspired by A care team who can give our clients time, the time that they need, to not feel rushed. The little things matter, like companionship over a cuppa, to really get to know our clients.
Janine Jimenez, Carer Operations
My job involves…. Coordinating day-to-day carer operations, supporting scheduling, and maintaining clear communication with both carers and clients. I also assist with onboarding and administrative tasks to ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
The best part about my job…. Is being able to support both carers and clients and knowing that my work helps deliver reliable, high-quality care. I enjoy connecting with carers, supporting them in their roles, and being part of a team that genuinely makes a difference in people’s daily lives.
I am inspired by… The dedication of carers who show up every day with compassion and patience. As a single mum, I’m also inspired by the importance of providing stability and care—both at home and through the work we do for others—which motivates me to give my best in everything I do.
Annisa Ramadhani, Business Support
My job involves…. Building strong and friendly relationships with local organisations. I invite them to join the Home Carers Resource Hub and collaborate on simple joint blogs or social posts that help increase visibility and support referrals for both sides.
The best part about my job…. Is being able to connect with many different organisations and create partnerships that genuinely benefit older people in the community. I enjoy seeing how our small collaborative efforts can help families find the support they need.
I am inspired by… People who dedicate their work to helping others, especially those who make a positive impact in aged care and community wellbeing. Their passion motivates me to keep improving and contributing through my role.
Our Carers, Our Team
At Home Carers, our strength is our people. Our close-knit team of compassionate carers shares the same values of kindness, patience, and respect, and we take pride in helping older people live safely and comfortably at home. Families who welcome us into their lives gain more than a carer, they gain the support of a team that is professional, reliable, and genuinely cares about making life easier for their loved ones. Every member of our team is committed to treating clients as if they were part of our own family.

What People Are Saying About Us
Our Wall of Love
DHMTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I would like to sincerely thank Home Carers for the wonderful support I received, especially from my carer, Shienel. The care provided was reliable, kind, and professional—nothing was ever too much trouble. Her support made a significant difference to my recovery during those important first two weeks and helped relieve pressure on my family. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend Home Carers. Thank you to Paul and the team. Kind regards, Shirley Tim OakesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Home Carers supported our family during a very challenging time as our loved one’s dementia progressed. They provided care at our retirement village apartment when things became difficult to manage, and also helped guide us through the transition into the villages residential care. Their support made the whole process feel much calmer and more manageable. The carers were compassionate and professional, and communication was always clear and reassuring. We’re very grateful for their help and would highly recommend them to other families going through a similar situation. Sarah DawsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a very good experience with Home Carers. Paul was very efficient and obliging in organising care for my husband while I was on holiday. Rosa was kind, reliable, friendly and gave me real peace of mind. Thank you. She gets a bit grumpy about not being in control of her affairs, but sadly that is now outside her cognitive ability. Jenny BrownTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Paul could not have been more obliging with organising care for my husband while I was in hospital. Our carer Rachel was wonderful, friendly, kind and helpful and I could relax, knowing that he was being safely looked after. Thank you Rachel, I'm sure we will need you again. We have 2 different carers provided by Home care who stay over night 9-7 seven nights a week and do 3 day shifts as well to allow me some time to myself as my husband cannot be left alone. The dedication ,and empathy these women have showed to our family and particularly my husband who has Parkinson’s which is leading to dementia is outstanding. They will do his exercises with him take him for walks, read to him, play brain games or simply let him sleep. They give him his meal if reguired, medication and do house hold chores were needed but it is mainly the companionship and support that is so good for us both. The great reward is seeing him respond with a big smile and welcome them so warmly- like old friends or one of the family. It is a truely wonderful service and I would not be able to keep him at home if it weren’t for this service . JoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have been so grateful for Anne’s wonderful care. She is a kind, capable person and always treated our Mum with respect and dignity. Mum really enjoyed her cheerful personality and Anne became a friend to our family. Home Carers provides a really valuable service. Thank you Anne and Paul
