Weekend and Public Holiday Care
To ensure continuity of care and fair compensation for carers, support delivered across weekends and public holidays may result in a slightly higher weekly investment.
This is based on the level of care required across the week and will always be clearly outlined and agreed with you before care begins.
Overnight Recovery Support
Many families choose overnight support in the first few days after discharge for added safety and peace of mind.
Overnight support can be added to any recovery package for families who would feel more comfortable having someone present during the night.
This is particularly helpful in the early stages after hospital discharge, when there may be a higher risk of falls, discomfort, or the need for reassurance.
Please note that overnight sleepover support applies where carers are not routinely required to wake. If ongoing or frequent assistance is needed throughout the night, care will be provided on an hourly (waking night) basis.
Overnight Sleepover Care
A carer stays overnight and is available if assistance is required.
Pricing
1–7 nights $349 per night + GST
7–14 nights $329 per night + GST
14+ nights $315 per night + GST
Weekends & Public Holidays
Overnight support delivered across weekends and public holidays may result in a slightly higher per-night investment, reflecting the level of support required and ensuring fair compensation for carers.
This will always be clearly outlined and agreed with you before care begins.

Real Family Feedback
DHMTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I would like to sincerely thank Home Carers for the wonderful support I received, especially from my carer, Shienel. The care provided was reliable, kind, and professional—nothing was ever too much trouble. Her support made a significant difference to my recovery during those important first two weeks and helped relieve pressure on my family. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend Home Carers. Thank you to Paul and the team. Kind regards, Shirley Tim OakesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Home Carers supported our family during a very challenging time as our loved one’s dementia progressed. They provided care at our retirement village apartment when things became difficult to manage, and also helped guide us through the transition into the villages residential care. Their support made the whole process feel much calmer and more manageable. The carers were compassionate and professional, and communication was always clear and reassuring. We’re very grateful for their help and would highly recommend them to other families going through a similar situation. Sarah DawsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a very good experience with Home Carers. Paul was very efficient and obliging in organising care for my husband while I was on holiday. Rosa was kind, reliable, friendly and gave me real peace of mind. Thank you. Rose is a pleasant and enthusiastic worker and goes the extra mile David BennettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We think Betty mostly enjoyed seeing us. She gets a bit grumpy about not being in control of her affairs, but sadly that is now outside her cognitive ability. Jenny BrownTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Paul could not have been more obliging with organising care for my husband while I was in hospital. Our carer Rachel was wonderful, friendly, kind and helpful and I could relax, knowing that he was being safely looked after. Thank you Rachel, I'm sure we will need you again. David HerrickTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Susan from Home Care Services has been a wonderful companion to our aging mother, and always friendly and helpful. A fantastic personalised and professional service - highly recommended. Margaret CookTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have 2 different carers provided by Home care who stay over night 9-7 seven nights a week and do 3 day shifts as well to allow me some time to myself as my husband cannot be left alone. The dedication ,and empathy these women have showed to our family and particularly my husband who has Parkinson’s which is leading to dementia is outstanding. They will do his exercises with him take him for walks, read to him, play brain games or simply let him sleep. They give him his meal if reguired, medication and do house hold chores were needed but it is mainly the companionship and support that is so good for us both. The great reward is seeing him respond with a big smile and welcome them so warmly- like old friends or one of the family. It is a truely wonderful service and I would not be able to keep him at home if it weren’t for this service . JoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have been so grateful for Anne’s wonderful care. She is a kind, capable person and always treated our Mum with respect and dignity. FAQS
What is post-hospital discharge support at home?
Post-hospital discharge support is in-home care designed to help individuals recover safely after leaving hospital. This includes assistance with personal care, mobility, meals, and daily routines to reduce the risk of complications or readmission.
How soon can care start after leaving hospital?
In most cases, care can begin within 24–48 hours of hospital discharge. We aim to arrange support quickly so your loved one can return home safely with the right care in place.
How many hours of care are needed after hospital discharge?
The level of care depends on the individual’s condition and recovery needs. Many families choose between 10–30 hours per week, while others may require more intensive daily support during the first 1–2 weeks.
How long do people typically need post-hospital care?
Most clients use post-hospital support for 1 to 4 weeks. The duration depends on recovery progress, mobility, and overall health.
What kind of support is provided after surgery or hospital stays?
Support may include help with showering and dressing, meal preparation, mobility assistance, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and general companionship during recovery.
Can overnight care be provided after hospital discharge?
Yes, overnight support can be arranged to provide reassurance and assistance during the night. This is especially helpful in the early stages of recovery when there may be a higher risk of falls or discomfort.
Will we have the same carer each day?
We aim to provide consistent carers whenever possible. Familiarity helps build trust, improves comfort, and supports a smoother recovery experience.
